
A cycling enthusiast has embarked on a 22,000km cycle from Ireland to China to raise funds for the Leicester IgA nephropathy research group, after a close friend was diagnosed with a chronic kidney disease for which there is no specific treatment.
The money raised by Marcus Gardiner-Hillwill go to the Leicester IgA nephropathy research group, a collaboration between the University of Leicester and University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust whose phase 1 and 2 trials are supported by the NIHR Leicester Clinical Research Facility.
